Another inspiration comes from years of painting her first children's book (coming in 2027). Those artworks sparked her imagination to create worlds that are brimmed with detail.

This artwork is about that moment of quiet you feel when you have finally climbed to the top of a mountaintop. It has with it a sense of appreciation of all that there is around us. "Mist Range" was completed after many failed versions of this same idea- it takes Yao a lot of trial and error to get each layer just so. Each hand-painted layer was done with the intent of showing you a world of mesmerizing, panoramic mountaintops that seems to go on forever.
